MAKALU-BARUN CONSERVATION PROJECT TO ALL VISORS


All visitors and mountaineers to the Makalu Base Camp and Mera Peak Area
are requested to support these regulations and pay entry fees Rs.1000.
(One shousand only) Campsites are permitted only in the following sites.

Inkhu and Hongu Vallies

Fuel wood needs

Cutting or otherwise damaging green trees or scrubs is Strictly Prohibited.
Therefore,all trekking,mountaineering agencies and individuals are urged to provide altemative fuel i.e.,kerosene,gas for all cooking needs including the PORTERS.

Kerosene depot

Tashingoan sells Kerosene at Tashigoan market price(approx.Rs.43.per liter) and Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee(SPCC) sells kerosene at Lukla market price(approx.Rs.45 per liter).

Stoves and Blanket

Stoves and Blankets are available for renting at Tashigoan for approx.Rs.10 per day and a deposit of Rs.200 for each stove and blanket unit.
Please provide@warm clothes to staff and porters.

Pack in,Pack out

Since there is no refuse disposal facilities inside national park,MBCP urge all trekking and mountaineering parties to follow the "Pack it in,pack it out" and deposited at the designated pits in Tashigoan and Lukla.
