Ministry reminds about mountaineering fee

The Ministry of Tourism and Civil Aviation said Wednesday the mountaineering
fee should not be less that 50 percent of the specified royalty depending on
the number of the members of the expedition.

Ten percent of the money raised from the fee must be spent on the tourism
promotion of the place or district concerned for which a separate fund will
be created.

Likewise, 10 percent of the total fee must be spent on conservation and
cleaning of the environment in tandem with the governmental and
non-governmental organisations.

The remaining sum must be utilised for the completion of the national and
international projects launched by the Nepal Mountaineering Association and
promotion of mountaineering tourism. nepalnews.com am Sept 19
